Write short notes on the various Child Language Acquisition Stage - Pre Language

Pre-language stage ( Coo-ing stage -> Babbling stage)
Age 3-10 mths
it is the period of experimentation for the child to try new things and the child learns to manipulate his speech organs to produce various sounds.

Cooing stage -(3-6 mths)
- velar plosives /k/ and /g/ are frequently produced.
- learn how to use movement of lips and tongue to change sounds they make

Babbling stage (6-10 mths)
-wider range of sounds ( affricates, fricatives, nasals)
-repetition of single syllable unit like /bv/ /n(schwa)/
For eg : a 9 mth child will produce repetitions of single syllable units /bvbvbvbvbv/
- leaving impression that the child is babbling.
