Definition
Psycholinguistics is a branch of linguistics that studies the rs btw the language ans the mind. it is a hybrid of linguistics, experimentation and cognitive psychology. It examines the psychological processes involved in the acquistion and the use of learning.
Father of psycholinguistics Wilhem wundt believes that mental processes including those that govern language use can be subjected to experimentation.
The focus of psycholinguistics is that language users are not only social beings but also psychological beings. It believes that language is the product of mental processes.
