FEW criteria

FEW criteria stands for
-Function
-Ending
-Word

1) Noun
Function - naming words that can function as the subject
Ending - inflectional suffix : plural, possesive
- derivation suffix : -tion, -ment, -ness, -ity, -ism
Word - after article the
- after preposition

2)Verb

Function - to describe action, process, state
Ending - inflectional suffix: past tense, past participle, present tense, progressive
- derivational suffix : ify, ise, ize
Word - occurs with usually and not very

3) Adjective

Function - to describe noun, can be in post positive position as well as premodify, describes some attributes as well as give additional information
Ending - inflectional suffix: comparative and superlative suffix
- derivational suffix : ic, able, ible, ish, ous, y
Word - occurs with degree adverbs

4) Adverb

Function - to modify verb and adjective and other adverbs
Ending - inflectional suffix: comparative and superlative suffix
- derivational suffix : ly suffix
Word - occurs with degree adverbs very, quite, hardly
