Definition
Pidgin is a contact language that is used as a primary mean of communication when there is no common language existing among the inhabitants of the country .

Features of pidgin
-aim of speakers is to communicate
-no native speakers
-not used as first language
-signs of language mixing

Example :
Tok Pisin in Papau New Guinea (Pidgin of English)
- formation of Pidgin due to labor migration within a colonised migration.
