English speaking Bilingual in Singapore
-coined by Pakir to describe Singpaoreans who can speak English as well as their mother tongue
-Bilingualism was implented by the Singapore government to remind Singaporeans of their ethnic and cultural roots and tradition while learning to speak English

Multilingual in Singapore
- because Singapore is a multi cultural society, most singaporeans have more than 2 languages at their disposal.

- For eg:
-An adult Singaporean may know how to speak English, Chinese, Malay and Hokkien dialect.
-different lingusitics codes for different functions.

He probably uses
- English for formal situations/ talking to his boss,
- Chinese for informal situations like talking to family (home language)
- Hokkien dialect for informal situations like speaking to elders
- Malay when speaking to his Malay peers and when ordering food
